Pictures! Pictures! Pictures!

Last weekend I worked long and hard to get the main roof framing up on the old cookhouse. It went slow at first getting those old 2 x 6 rafter beams up their and getting my angles and cuts just like I wanted them but by Sunday was making some headway. The roof is about 2 1/2 feet taller than the old roof and I will need to build the chimney up by at least that much. The 28 guage galvinized steel I'm going up there with comes in 10 foot sections and instead of cutting down to 9' like the old tin was decided to just make the roof higher and steeper and run out to 10 '. The old raw 2x6's I had bought from habitat from humanity were 12' so had plenty of length there to cut out of. Given good weather hope to start laying to tin roof panels on it next weekend!

If you look closely you will also see some pictures of Gracies 3 kittens! Yep, we found them...right out under the large holly hedge that runs between us and the church next door!

She is so pretty, love her coloring.

And those babies are so tiny!

I hope they make it. Will she let you get close to them?

Cool picture!

When it's all done, you'll have to stand right up on the roof!

:-)

What a labor of love and hard work, it is coming along beautifully! Chery is hard at work mowing and the beautiful angel in your garden keeps a watch on that crazy man climbing on the rafters:) Be careful up there Jason!! When did Graycie have her kittens? They look fairly new:)
